Raqamli texnologiyalar orqali axborotni yaratish, saqlash va uzatish imkoniyatlarining kengayishi inson faoliyatining samaradorligini oshirishga xizmat qilmoqda. INTRODUCTION: one of the key features of scientific and technological progress in the 21st century is the rapid development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. This process encompasses all spheres of social life, leading to the transformation of economic, social, and cultural systems. The expansion of opportunities for creating, storing, and transmitting information through digital technologies contributes to increasing the efficiency of human activity. At the same time, artificial intelligence technologies, by modeling certain functions of human cognition, are becoming an important tool for solving complex problems. These circumstances necessitate a comprehensive scientific analysis of the role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in societal development. In particular, the study of their impact on socioeconomic systems, as well as their opportunities and risks, is of great relevance. AIM: the main objective of this study is to analyze the role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in societal development on a scientific basis, as well as to identify the mechanisms of their influence on socio-economic progress. Additionally, the study aims to reveal the essence of digital transformation processes, examine the application of artificial intelligence technologies in various fields, and assess their impact on efficiency. It also seeks to identify the challenges and future development trends associated with these technologies. MATERIALS AND METHODS: the research employs various scientific methods based on a systematic and comprehensive approach. In particular, the analytical method is used to study and generalize existing scientific literature, theoretical concepts, and approaches. The comparative method allows for a cross-country analysis of the development levels of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, a systemic approach is applied to comprehensively assess the impact of these technologies on different sectors of society. General conclusions are drawn based on statistical data and analytical sources. The research materials include scientific articles, reports of international organizations, and contemporary studies in the field of the digital economy. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: the results of the study indicate that digital technologies and artificial intelligence are significant drivers of societal development. In particular, the automation of production processes in the economy contributes to increased labor productivity and fosters the formation of a digital economy. In the field of education, the development of digital platforms and distance learning systems expands access to knowledge and elevates education to a new qualitative level. In the healthcare system, the implementation of artificial intelligence-based diagnostic methods enables early detection of diseases and improves treatment efficiency. In public administration, the development of e-government systems simplifies the provision of public services while enhancing transparency and accessibility. However, alongside these positive aspects, several challenges remain. Limited access to digital technologies leads to digital inequality. In addition, issues of cybersecurity and personal data protection remain highly relevant. The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence may result in the displacement of certain professions, thereby creating social challenges. In this regard, there is a need to develop effective and secure mechanisms for the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. CONCLUSION: in conclusion, digital technologies and artificial intelligence are among the key factors of modern societal development. They contribute to accelerating economic growth, fostering innovation, and improving the quality of life. At the same time, to mitigate potential negative consequences, it is necessary to enhance digital literacy, strengthen cybersecurity measures, and improve the legal and regulatory framework. In the future, the continued development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as their effective use for the benefit of society, will remain a priority task.
