Introduction: communicative competence is a fundamental aspect of modern education, ensuring that students not only acquire linguistic knowledge but also develop the ability to interact meaningfully in social and cultural contexts. Aim: to analyze the content and components of communicative competence and to determine its pedagogical significance in primary education. Materials and Methods: the study applies pedagogical analysis, linguistic interpretation, and methodological observation of classroom practices. interactive methods such as role play and group discussion are considered as tools for competence development. Results and Discussion: findings show that communicative competence integrates linguistic accuracy, speech fluency, socio-cultural awareness, pragmatic adaptability, and reflective evaluation. in primary education, these components are effectively developed through dialogic and monologic exercises, situational tasks, and collaborative learning activities. Conclusion: communicative competence is a key factor in shaping students’ speech culture, social activity, and academic success. its development requires systematic pedagogical strategies that combine linguistic knowledge with interactive and reflective practices.
