Zamonaviy jamiyatda faqat bilimga ega bo‘lish yetarli emas, balki uni amaliyotda qo‘llash, muammolarni hal qilish, tanqidiy fikrlash va ijodiy yondashish kabi kompetensiyalar muhim ahamiyat kasb etmoqda. Shu sababli ta’lim tizimida an’anaviy baholash usullaridan kompetensiyaviy yondashuv asosidagi baholash tizimlariga o‘tish zarurati yuzaga kelmoqda. Portfolioga asoslangan baholash tizimi talabaning o‘quv jarayonidagi faoliyatini kompleks tarzda aks ettiruvchi innovatsion vositalardan biri hisoblanadi. Portfolio nafaqat bilim va ko‘nikmalarni, balki talabaning rivojlanish dinamikasini, refleksiyasini, ijodiy yondashuvini va mustaqil o‘rganish qobiliyatini ham namoyon etadi. Talabalar portfoliolarini samarali boshqarish esa murakkab pedagogik jarayon bo‘lib, u yagona metod yoki yondashuv bilan cheklanmaydi. Shu nuqtai nazardan, eklektik yondashuv dolzarb ahamiyatga ega. Eklektik yondashuv turli pedagogik konsepsiyalarni integratsiya qilish orqali ta’lim jarayonini yanada moslashuvchan va samarali tashkil etishga imkon beradi. INTRODUCTION: in the context of modern globalization, digital transformation, and the knowledge economy, the requirements imposed on the education system are undergoing fundamental changes. In contemporary society, it is no longer sufficient to possess knowledge alone; it is essential to be able to apply it in practice, solve problems, think critically, and demonstrate creativity. Therefore, there is a growing need to shift from traditional assessment methods to competency-based evaluation systems. A portfolio-based assessment system is considered one of the innovative tools that comprehensively reflects a student’s performance in the educational process. A portfolio demonstrates not only knowledge and skills but also the dynamics of a student’s development, reflection, creativity, and ability for independent learning. Managing student portfolios is a complex pedagogical process that cannot be limited to a single method or approach. In this regard, the eclectic approach becomes particularly relevant. The eclectic approach allows for the integration of various pedagogical concepts, enabling a more flexible and effective organization of the educational process. It incorporates elements of constructivism, competency-based approach, reflective learning, learnercentered education, and digital pedagogy. AIM: the main objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the theoretical foundations, methodological possibilities, and practical effectiveness of managing student portfolios based on an eclectic approach. The main tasks of the study include: revealing the scientific and pedagogical essence of the eclectic approach; identifying the didactic potential of portfolio-based assessment systems; developing mechanisms for integrating various pedagogical approaches; designing an innovative model for managing student portfolios; evaluating the impact of e-portfolio systems on educational effectiveness. MATERIALS AND METHODS: the study employed a comprehensive approach using the following methods: Theoretical methods: analysis of scientific literature in pedagogy, psychology, and didactics; study of international experience (e-portfolio systems, competency-based assessment); generalization and systematization of scientific concepts. Empirical methods: observation (the process of maintaining student portfolios); interviews (with students and academic staff); surveys (to determine attitudes toward portfolios); pedagogical experiment (testing the eclectic model). Analytical methods: comparison (traditional assessment vs. portfolio-based assessment); statistical analysis (generalization of results); monitoring and diagnostics (assessment of students’ development levels). RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: effectiveness of the Eclectic Approach. The results of the study showed that portfolios managed on the basis of an eclectic approach ensure the comprehensive development of students. This approach integrates several pedagogical paradigms: Constructivism – students construct knowledge independently; Competency-based approach – focus on learning outcomes; Reflective approach – analysis of one’s own activities; Learner-centered education – support of individual development. Development of Competencies through Portfolio The portfolio contributes to the development of the following competencies: analytical and critical thinking; communicative competence; information management skills; creativity and innovative thinking; self-regulation and reflection. Advantages of E-Portfolio Systems Digital portfolios (e-portfolios) provide the following opportunities: storage and systematization of materials; use of interactive and multimedia elements; distance assessment and monitoring; ensuring transparency and objectivity. Problems and Limitations The study also identified the following challenges: insufficient preparedness of teachers for implementing the eclectic approach; lack of time and resources; недостаточная разработанность критериев → (corrected below) insufficiently developed assessment criteria; underdeveloped reflective skills among some students. This approach ensures students’ individual development, stimulates their independent learning activities, and contributes to a comprehensive and fair assessment process. A portfolio system organized on the basis of an eclectic approach serves not only as an assessment tool but also as a means of personal development. Therefore, the widespread implementation of this approach in higher education, the improvement of teachers’ professional competencies, and the use of modern technologies are among the most important tasks.
