this scientific article analyzes modern and innovative approaches to the formation of artistic and aesthetic thinking in students during visual arts lessons in secondary schools. The study highlights the possibilities of using a competency-based approach, interactive methods, information and communication technologies, project and STEAM education elements. Also, the educational significance of visual arts lessons, the role of innovative pedagogical technologies in developing students' creative thinking are scientifically, theoretically and practically substantiated. The results of the article serve as methodological recommendations for visual arts teachers and students of pedagogy.
