KIRISH: ushbu maqolada neft-gaz yo‘nalishida tahsil olayotgan bitiruvchi talabalar uchun kasbiy kommunikativ ko‘nikmalarning ahamiyati va ularning ESP (English for Specific Purposes) ta’limidagi aks etishi tahlil qilinadi. MAQSAD: tadqiqotning maqsadi — talabalar tomonidan eng muhim deb hisoblangan kasbiy muloqot ko‘nikmalarini aniqlash va mavjud ESP dasturlarida ularning qanchalik qamrab olinganini baholashdir. MATERIALLAR VA METODLAR: 82 nafar neft-gaz yo‘nalishidagi bitiruvchi talabalarga so‘rovnoma o‘tkazildi. natijalar kasbiy ehtiyojlar va ESP o‘quv dasturlari o‘rtasidagi tafovutni ko‘rsatdi. NATIJALAR VA MUHOKAMA: talabalar ingliz tilini kasbiy maqsadlarda o‘rganish zarurligini tan olgan holda, amaliy muloqot ko‘nikmalarini — stajirovka, xorijiy tajriba almashinuvi, texnik hamkorlik — ilmiy maqola o‘qish va yozishdan ustun qo‘yishdi. bu esa ESP dasturlarini amaliyotga yo‘naltirish zarurligini ko‘rsatadi. XULOSA: ESP o‘quv dasturlarini amaliy, kommunikativ ko‘nikmalarga asoslangan holda qayta yo‘naltirish bo‘yicha tavsiyalar ishlab chiqildi.
INTRODUCTION: this article investigates the professional communication skills oil and gas graduating students perceive as most critical for their academic and career development, and evaluates how ESP training meets these needs. PURPOSE: the study aims to identify gaps between students’ prioritized workplace communication skills and the academic focus of current ESP curricula. MATERIALS AND METHODS: a questionnaire survey was conducted among 82 graduating students in oil and gas disciplines. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: findings show that students value English for professional purposes but prioritize practical workplace-oriented skills such as internships, foreign exchange, and technical collaboration over academic skills like reading and writing scientific articles. CONCLUSION: recommendations are made to reorient ESP curricula toward practice-driven, communication-centered approaches to better prepare students for professional contexts.
